When using Internetbank, data exchange confidentiality is provided in accordance with SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) regulations. Since the moment the Internetbank page has appeared on the screen and Customer has clicked on the icon INTERNETBANK, every detail of data exchange between you and Internetbank is being encrypted what protects information against interference, contortion and forgery. Please pay attention to the address bar of your Internet browser, as a rule it should start with http://. When using InternetBank, it should start with letters https:// that shows it is operating following SSL regulations.
Another important moment related with confidentiality is to be sure you are using our Internetbank. Sometimes criminals use a false home page imitating Internetbank in order to learn passwords of Users. Customers can make sure they are actually using InternetBank of Tallinn Business Bank by checking up the certificate granted to the bank by international organization THAWTE. For check-up Customer should double click on the deadlock (when using Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers you can see the image on a status line, in the lower right corner of the program window and just on the address line when using the last version of Opera browser). In the description showed on the screen there should be the address of our bank's web-server: www.tbb.ee and the certificate expiry date.
User identification and access to Internetbank needs availability of three security elements that are User identification code, the main password and additional passwords.
On signing the Contract for Internetbank Use the Customer receives a sealed envelope with his/her identification code and the main passwords. We strongly recommend changing your main password when using Internetbank for the first time after you have signed the Contract for Internetbank Use (in section CONFIGURATIONS>Change the main password) and change it regularly, e.g. every 15-30 days, later. You may change User identification code in section CONFIGURATIONS as well.
On signing the Contract for Internetbank Use the Customer also receives a plastic card having additional passwords (30 numerated 6-figured codes). Each time on entering Internetbank a different password determined by Internetbank is used. You may change additional password card for a new one in the bank.
Additional security measures
In case you leave Internetbank page opened and perform no actions, the connection will be interrupted in 10 minutes. In order to start working again you have to repeat identification procedure.
In order to prevent criminals to pick the password, access to Internetbank of a particular customer is blocked after submitting a wrong User identification code for three times.
We especially draw your attention to the fact that the identification code and passwords are personally handed over to you, that is why you are the only one to know them and nobody else needs them!
From time to time criminals make attempts to obtain these security elements. That is why you can get e-mail or a letter (sometimes on behalf of a bank) with a request to advise your Internetbank identification code and passwords for some important and serious reason (e.g. to restore data base after system failure, etc.). Phone calls with the similar request are also possible.
