Direct debit order - this is an agreement concluded between the Customer and the Bank for making regular payments on the basis of a bill sent by provider of services in the amount and by date set out in the bill.
Direct debit order is a convenient way to pay bills for public utilities and other payable bills. It spares you the trouble of having to visit a bank office to pay a bill. And it spares you the embarrassment of remembering too late that a bill is overdue.
Domestic Direct Debit order is a new service. It does not replace active Direct Debit order, but expands its opportunities. The legal person – service provider sends bills to the customers and orders the bank (Hansapank, SEB Eesti Ühispank, Sampo Pank, Eesti Krediidipank, Nordea Pank, Tallinna Äripank) to debit the accounts of clients on the payment date established in the agreement. Domestic Direct Debit order simplifies the receiving of payments, increases the service quality, and provides the payment discipline. The Beneficiary’s agreement and the remitter’s agreement can be concluded at all branches of Tallinn Business Bank. Direct debiting is performed in Estonian kroons.
Conclusion of an agreement
Direct Debit order is a trilateral agreement concluded between the payer, Tallinn Business Bank and the payment beneficiary
Direct Debit agreement can be concluded by legal persons – service providers (payment beneficiary) and by private persons – customers (payers) as well. In case of direct debit agreement the payment beneficiary orders the bank to debit payer’s account in the amount indicated on the invoice on the certain day according to the agreement conditions.
Legal persons – services providers
Companies dealing with collection of payments for provided services, are recommended to conclude direct debit agreement (Beneficiary’s agreement). To conclude direct debit agreement, you only have to fill in the blank issued by the bank. In the agreement are established the conditions and the date of debiting the payer’s account and the other conditions of fulfillment of payments. Agreement stays effective until receipt of an application on its termination.
Private persons -payers
You can conclude the Direct debit agreement and allow the bank to debit Your account in favour of legal person-service provider. The bank debits Your account on the basis of electronic bills sent to the bank by service provider. The copies of these bills service provider mails to you.
According to the direct debit order contract, the Bank transfers the amount indicated on the bill from your account to the service provider’s account. You may also fix in the contract the maximum amount of payment. In case the bill sent by the service provider is bigger than the amount fixed by you in the contract, this bill shall be paid in a traditional way - in a bank office or over the internet.
You can also fix the period of validity of the contract (from which date until which date the payments shall be made). The agreement stays effective until receipt of an application on its termination.
In the contract you may fix:
- the amount of payment
- the beneficiary
- the date of payment
Concluding of a direct debit order contract and payments are free of charge.
